PDP task Edo State on Teachers strike

The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Edo State Dan Orbih called on the state government to reconsider their stand over the ongoing teachers strike that is still under way there.

He said this at a rally at Uhunmwode LGA, where PDP received hundreds of new members who decamped to the party from the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN).

The Chairman regretted the government's involvement in the politics of divide and rule in the workers union.

He also accused the state government of practicing divide and rule system in handling the Teachers unions in the state over the see of the Teachers Salary Scale.

Mr Orbih advised the governor to address the exisitng challenges instead of referring to the PDP decade in government.

However, the Special Adviser on Media to the governor dismissed the allegations, asserting that any politician that is worth its salt will support the events in Edo State.

Joe Atohenmgbe, leader of ACN Uhunmwode defected to the PDP after spending six years in the party.

He gave the assurance that the PDP will be the dominant party in Uhunmwode Local Area.
