Mr. Atul Kshetry, Chief Executive Officer, International Data Management Services, has identified exposure to vocational training as one of the solutions to youth unemployment in the country.
This, he argued, was because vocational training was capable of impacting people with technical and professional competencies needed to create jobs and thus become self-reliant.
Kshetry said this at the inauguration of Centum International Academy, established to train 5,000 youths in various trades in Lagos Wednesday in Lagos.
The academy, he said, is a product of a partnership between a multinational organisation, Centum Learning, Training and Development and IDM Services.
Kshetry promised that the academy would make a significant contribution in bridging the existing gap between the academia and industry with its robust learning methodology, cutting edge courseware and world-class faculty members.
He said, “The formation of Centum International Academy will go a long way in empowering the Nigerian youth to a competitive edge in various vocations.”
Kshetry said the partnership would provide short and long term programmes covering vocations such as mobile devices engineering, telecoms call centre executives, customer service executives/managers for the banking, insurance, IT products and services and telecoms sectors.
