Top 20 best Universities in the world

Harvard university has again topped the list of  best universities in the world according to Times Higher Education's world reputation ranking of universities. The 2013 rankings.

 Following Harvard are Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Cambridge university, taking second and third place respectively.

 Oxford university has climbed two places since the 2012 rankings, to take fourth place and Stanford university has dropped down to sixth.

 The rankings also highlight a big improvement for Australia which now has six universities represented in the top 100 - the third highest representation in the list behind the US and the UK.

 Australia has two new entries: the university of New South Wales and Monash university. With nine universities in the top 100, the UK has the second highest number of representatives after the US.

 University College London (UCL) has moved up one place to 20th and the London School of Economics (LSE) has jumped up to 25th in the latest rankings.

 Manchester university has entered the top 50 for the first time and Edinburgh university, the only Scottish institution in the list, has moved up three places to 46th place.

 It's not such good news for Leeds university though, the university has dropped out of the top 100 since the 2012 rankings placed them within the 81-90 band.

Top 5 Universities for Employability

 It is a common fact that some employers consider some prospective employees because of the higher institution they attended.The names of these universities on their resume makes them more qualified than others.Employability is one of the ingredients the QS World University Rankings uses to measure university rankings amidst other factors.In this case, employers are asked to identify the institutions they prefer to recruit from.

QS World rankings have compiled a list of five universities chosen from around the world that would actually rank higher if the rankings had been based on employers opinions.

1. London School Of Economics and Polical Science (LSE), UK.
Has an overall ranking of 69 and has an employability ranking of 4.It specializes in social sciences subject and employers places a strong value on its leadership field. Specialist institutions like Bocconi, ESSEC and HEC Paris also have high score in employer survey but they dont apper in the overall QS world rankings due to a streamlined range of subjects being offered.

 2. University Of California , Berkely, US.
Has an overall ranking of 22 and an employer ranking of 8. Ranks even higher than employer one in the global acedemic survey.The university makes building strong relationships with graduate recruiters a priority.

3. University Of Melbourne, Australia
Has an overall world ranking of 36 and an employer ranking of 9. In Australia, the university is the top choice for employers. The university has a range of 'Pathway Options' as it prepares students for future careers.

4.National University of Singapore (NUS), Singapore.
Has an overall world ranking of  25 and an employer ranking of 14.Has the best employabolity in the Asia region.

5.Tsinghua University, China
Has an overall ranking of 48 and Employer ranking of 17.In the The QS World ranking,this University is China's 5th university but number 1 in employability.
