He was immediately replaced with the President of the Faculty of Arts, Nelson Emmanuel Fisayo.

In a statement, the Council of Faculty Presidents accused Mr. Larri-William of attending a meeting with the University Management alone without the consent of other Faculty Presidents, who were at the time either negotiating prices with retailers on campus or out protesting.

The clandestine meeting, which was held as betraying the students, was said to have lasted over four hours.

The statement said nothing about the outcome of that particular meeting.

The council alleged that Larri-Williams also boasted about being single handedly responsible for the protest, as well as peddling false information with intent to deceive the general public.

The Council of Faculty Presidents is a union set up by the students following Unilag’s proscription of the Students Union Government.

Students of the University of Lagos are protesting the high cost of living in the school campus.
Although It was gathered that the protest which started yesterday was a peaceful one, as the students bemoaned the high cost of food and other basic items on campus, saying it is disheartening that students are paying higher for food and other consumables than their prices outside campus.

The cost of making photocopies is also said to be too expensive for an academic environment.

Also soft drinks in plastic bottles such as Viju,Fanta,Pepsi are sold for N120 per bottle instead of its supposed retail price of N100.
